Six people were killed and two others injured after a truck collided with a commercial vehicle along the Kabba–Odo-Ape Road in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State on Saturday.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the Kogi road crash on Sunday, saying preliminary findings pointed to excessive speed as a major factor in the collision.
Kogi State Sector Commander, Lawal Fagge, said the victims included six people who died in the accident, while two others sustained varying degrees of injuries. Residents of Odo-Ape reportedly joined efforts to assist those affected after the collision.
The latest incident adds to road-safety concerns along Nigerian highways, where the FRSC routinely warns motorists about speeding, dangerous overtaking and driving while fatigued.
According to Fagge, the crash happened on Saturday along the Kabba–Odo-Ape route when the truck and commercial vehicle collided.
